Oops I forgot

I forgot to say in the blog that I just posted a while ago that Imogen Heap, or "Immi" as her fans like to call her is British. I love Brits. England is the best. I want to live there so bad!

Music and Twilight!

It has been awhile since I last made a post. I got some interesting cd's for my birthday. The first two I got were M.I.A cd's. I got her cd Arular from 2005, and Kala, from last year (which was 2007 if you are feeling strangely slow). Arular is a little more saucy and dirty than Kala. It has a parental advisory explicit content warning on the cover because she drops the f-bomb a couple of times in a few of her songs but the cd is good minus the profanity. Kala is also good too. Most people only know M.I.A for Paper Planes, which is also on the CD. My favorite songs on Arular would probably have to be Pull Up the People, Bucky Done Gun, Sunshowers, Amazon, 10 Dollar, Hombre, U.R.A.Q.T, and Galang. My favorite songs on Kala are Bird Flu, Boyz, Mango Pickle Down River feat. Wilcannia Mob, Paper Planes, and Come Around feat. Timbaland. The Wilcannia Mob is a group of Australian boys who have one single out called Down River. They are fro Wilcannia, Australia and they collaborated with M.I.A for her cd. When they recorded with Maya(M.I.A), they were all really young. Im not sure about the ages but now they are all about 16, 18, and 19. I think it was really cute to hear som little Australian boys trying to rap with their little accents and everything. Whoa, I totally got sidetracked!! I forgot about the other cd!! My friend Angela gave me Imogen Heap's cd, Speak For Yourself. That cd was AWESOME!! It is one of those cd's that you listen to when you are at home alone and it is raining and you just curl up with a good book ( I know, that story is always used when someone describes when and where they like to read, I hear it all the time!) Imogen uses a synthesizer and does her own backround sound effects. She plays the guitar and piano. She also is the most creative artist I know, from what she wears on her body and head, to what she uses and background sound effects. I am subscribed to her vlog on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/imogenheap?ob=1) and she gives you the background, behind the scenes info on her upcoming projects, and stuff like that. In one song (this has to do with the sound effect part), she has two xylophone sticks and is hitting the lights on the ceiling in her music room and recording it into the song! And in her song Closing In, which is on Speak For Yourself, she is hitting empty cd cases against the big cardboard rolls that carpets come on. She even remembered to say thank you to the carpet place she got the rolls from on the insert in the cd. My favorite sound effect by her was in an song for her new cd, she played a snippet for the web and she said that towards the beginning of the song, she turned on her gameboy color, and it fit perfectly in the song! Anyways this is so random and off subject but Twilight is coming out on Friday. Ugh, it is going to be so bad. If anyone who is reading this hasn't read the book yet, do yourself the favor and read the book first because you will ruin the book for yourself by looking at the ugly actors in the movie who don't even look like the mental images you get from reading the book. The only decent looking people in the cast are Cam Gigandet, who plays James, and Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle. Everyone else is ugly.

Randomness...as usual. But interesting stuff though

Well it is a month closer to the premiere of Twilight and I kinda can't wait even though it is going to be bad. I am excited though. Today I had to take this picture off of my friends myspace. It was a picture of Cam Gigandet, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. They are the three actors who play James, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black in Twilight. It was such an attractive picture [in black and white] that I couldn't resist it and now it is happily on my myspace profile.

My other friend burned me this cd of X-Japan and Versailles. It is AWESOME!! If you have the chance you should really listen to them!! X-Japan's song Xclamation is my favorite!! Especially the bass part!! Taiji is kickbutt!![I can't really say the other word I meant to say because adults I know read this blog!!] My favorite song by Versailles is Zombie. It is a good Halloween song.

I just realized that that was the first time I talked about music on my blog...anyways you should go listen to my awesome M.I.A. playlist on my myspace page if you are my friend on myspace. Otherwise, I guess that's too bad that you can't hear it. Actually the first song isn't M.I.A., but still the playlist is great!! The list of songs are:

1. Kaboom- Ursula 1000
2. Pull Up The People- M.I.A.
3. Bucky Done Gun- M.I.A.
4. Sunshowers- M.I.A.
5. Galang- M.I.A.
6. Paper Planes- M.I.A.

Random

I can't wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation. That is when I get a break from school and get a chance to finally finish a book that wasn't Japanese manga since school started!! It has been really stressful so far this year and I am very much looking forward to the next break we get from school or the next 3 day weekend. I am so exhausted and am getting less sleep since school started. But anyways, has anyone heard any good songs lately or heard of a good band or an interesting book??

I am glad that The Secret Life of Bees is finally coming out as a movie on October 13 or 17[I forgot] I really enjoyed that book and I am super excited for the movie. I think it will be good and it looks like Dakota Fanning finally chose a good part in a movie.

Oh well. Off to go do some more studying. =(

The Twilight Series

So I read the whole Twilight Series this summer and they turned out to be pretty interesting. I got kind of sick of Bella by Breaking Dawn but she isn't my favorite anyways. My favorite characters were Alice and Jasper. I think that it would have been better to read them all after Breaking Dawn came out so I could just read them all at once, but instead I just couldn't wait because of how good everyone made them seem. I am kind of disappointed though after seeing behind the scenes stuff and trailers for the movie because first of all, Catherine Hardwicke, the director, she is adding stuff that isn't even in the book so I'm all skeptical and stuff like "uuhhhm...should I even see it??" But I will go and see it, just out of curiosity, because there are some things in the book that I would like to see how it looks in movie form. That is one of the reasons I like to read, because when you get a really good book that has vivid imagery, your imagination gets going and you can feel like you are really in the story!! I also want to read The Host, which is Stephenie Meyer's other book. Some people at school said the beginning was really boring and they cold barely read the first page, so I don't know. Well anyways, I need to go study and finish some homework, so I have to get off the computer.
